41 years have passed since the release of RATTUS: Rajoitettu Ydinsota 7" and it seems like nothing has changed. War rages on and the fear of nuclear war is present.
But in 1982 Rajoitettu Ydinsota 7" EP ("Limited Nuclear War") meant a fresh outtake on punk for RATTUS with its furious speed, raging riffs, and war-ridden lyrics. Since this four track 7" was recorded six months before its release, in December 1981, it is undisputed that RATTUS was at the fore-
front of what would soon be known as brutal thrashing Finnish hardcore!
Rajoitettu Ydinsota was released in May 1982 by POKO REKORDS in Finland. The initial pressing of 500 copies was quickly followed by a Brazilian pressing in 1983 of 1,000 copies, and a French pressing in 1986 of 1,000 copies. Decades later in 2011, there was a German pressing of 1,050 copies, as well as an American pressing of 500 copies.
This is the first time Rajoitettu Ydinsota 7" is reissued in Finland. This 2023 official reissue by FINNISH HARDCORE includes previously unseen photos by Voitto "Vote" Vasko (P.TUOTANTO) and a brand new interview in English.
